…another photo of a knackered woman with a ludicrously bright bag! This time the neon Zatchel I ordered from the BrandAlley sale posted about here. When I dropped off the children to my parents’ this morning, my Dad, always the comedian, asked if it was a safety measure. It has also drawn a few comments, uniquely from men, in the office this morning. Whatevs, it’s cheering me up!
Another new item I have on today is this gorgeous bracelet, from Bijoux by Desi F at Etsy. I love this store and am planning a lot more purchases from this talented lady!
(God, I look haggard, when will my children sleep?!)
Shirt – Gap
Skirt – Moschino
Tights – Falke
Shoes – Russell & Bromley
Belt – Whistles
Watch – Michael Kors
Bracelet – Bijoux by Desi F
(p.s. you can’t tell from the photo, but the skirt is actually polka dot!)
I only have one pair of specs, which seems ridiculous to me when I think about it, as I wear them everyday! So I think a new pair might be in order to mix it up a bit, and top of my list are these Ray Bans.
I am wedded to my Wayfarers in the summer, as I think they style really suits me, so these glasses are an obvious choice. They come in a great variety of colours, and at £80 including single vision lenses and free delivery, I think they are a steal. Check out specsuperstore.com for a great range of brands very reasonable prices. And no, they’re not sponsoring me, though I wish they were!!
Between them my children conspired to have me up no less than 8 times in the night, on top of a nasty cold I’ve been incubating, so please excuse the ghostly pallor.
Jacket – H&M (about 3 years old)
Dress – Me&Em
Tights (in case anyone cares) – Falke
Shoes – Russell & Bromley
Belt – H&M (black version here)
To cheer myself up, I’m carrying this Raoul saddle bag, which was my object of lust last summer, and never fails to brighten my day:
So, I mentioned that for the past few weeks I’ve been a-saving for a new summer bag (extremely out of character, I normally just use the joint account and have an argument with my husband about what constitutes reasonable expenditure when the statement arrives).
Well, I’m nearly there, and the purchase will be made in a week or so. Yippee. I was all set to go and buy this little bad boy….
…when, whilst having an idle Sunday morning Matches browse, I found this magnificent beast…
What’s a girl to do? I have neither a cobalt nor a silver bag, so which one do I get? The size of the Hulme is better for me, with my proclivity to lug the kitchen sink, yet I’m scared of the delicate suede lining. But it comes with a gold dinosaur keyring… But I do love silver for summer.
Readers, this is a serious issue, please do leave a comment and help me decide…
Well, I totally failed to post that pic before I got legless, and indeed I got so legless not only did I fail to get the shot anyway, but I totally incapacitated myself yesterday. Ah well, I will recreate the outfit at some point over the weekend (once I’ve sponged off the Jagermeister) and post a photo then.
Today I’ve got a sinus headache and feel a bit sorry for myself so comfort and warmth have been key.
Scarf – Pure collection, as featured here
Jumper – Uniqlo (the softest cashmere but only available in Winter)
T-shirt – Helmut
Jeans – Goldsign Virtual
Boots – Cobra Society
More on the boots: these might just be my favourite boots (and if you see my shoe closet, you’ll see they’ve fought off a lot of competition for that title. I picked these up at a sample sale for about 10% of the (ridiculous) £640 RRP, and I love ’em. Super comfy, and not a boot that has become ubiquitous (I’m looking at you Pistols). Not for everyone I know, but I’ve always been a fan of the cowboy boot. In fact, my first ever fashion purchase was a pair of pale blue leather cowboy boots from Office that I saved up my babysitting pennies for. They were £70, which was a fortune to me at the time. Think I might still have them somewhere…
…don’t put them in the shop window’ is not a philosophy I subscribe to, so when my husband told me he thought this dress was too sexy for our shared workplace, I threw down the gauntlet.
Dress down with flat boots and a casual belt, I think it looks perfectly work appropriate! I am going out after work tonight and won’t have time to change completely post-bedtime apocalypse, so I’ll be swapping accessories and sexing it up for drinks with friends. I will post a quick pic later before I get legless.
Dress – Me&Em (currently half price!)
Boots – Dune (past season)
Belt – Whistles (past season)
Watch – Michael Kors
Because they don’t know the words! (Sorry).
I’m neither looking nor feeling my best today after a very disturbed night with the children. However, I can always rely on this McQ skirt to cheer me up! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, but showed unusual restraint, sending a link to my husband when it finally went into the sale a few days before my birthday. Luckily he took the hint! The skirt is still available in a M here, though I should warn you it comes up a little large. I got the S and it is slightly loose on the waist. And if you need any more convincing, here is a picture showing all the beautiful detail:
