Another outing for the bargain Iris & Ink jumper today, this time styled as part of a work look.
I’ve paired it with this slightly offbeat skirt from Vivienne Westwood Red Label. I like the little side drape on this skirt; adds a bit of interest to a plain basic. The courts are Lulu Guiness, bought about 5 years ago. They are super pointy, so have done the fashion full circle and come back in again. Most things do, though I’m not sure about Maharishis or Von Dutch t-shirts.
I also added a last-minute sparkly necklace, because I felt a bit dull this morning as I was leaving. Not sure if it enhances the outfit, but I’m a magpie!
Apologies for later than average outfit post – have been mired in spread sheet hell, with no end in sight. Sigh.
Anyway, today was the debut of another of my Outnet clearance bargains, this Iris & Ink crepe dress. I wasn’t totally sure about this when it arrived, as it is a bit shorter than I normally wear for work as I have hatred of my chubby knees. However, I sought the wise counsel of my stylish friends and the vote was to keep. So here I am in it:If you follow me on Twitter (which you can do by clicking the button to the right), you might have seen my tweet about the bits I picked up at TK Maxx yesterday. These shoes were among them. I have been looking for a pair of black kitten heels for a while, and as I’m loath to spend out on boring shoes this Vince Camuto pair were just the ticket – soft leather, padded insoles and just £28. Even better, having saved so much on the shoes, I was able to justify a cheeky Matches order. Watch this space!
I’ve also added a dragonfly necklace from Accessorize, which I never wear, though it’s quite pretty.I do think a simple dress like this needs a more statement-y necklace though, so I am officially on the hunt for some bling. If you see anything do drop me a line!

Well, my smash and grab Outnet order arrived and was 80% successful so you can expect to see the fruits of that over the next few weeks, starting today! This was the jumper I linked to in this post. I’m really pleased with it; a lovely fine knit, high crew neck and supersoft. And for just over £20? Don’t mind if I do! I’ve paired it with Topshop Jamies (more on these excellent jeans here) and leopard loafers. I think leopard print is the natural accompaniment to stripes – possibly the most accessible pattern clash!
