  Great Plains

Paul & Joe Sister Alchimie Long Sleeve Dress - Rouge NOW £102 Was £145

Paul & Joe Sister
Alchimie Long Sleeve Dress – Rouge
NOW £102 Was £145

If, like me, you’re a fan of a quirky print, you’ll love this gorgeous rabbit print dress from Paul and Joe Sister. I actually have a playsuit in the navy version of this print and it is one of my very favourite things, so this dress is super-tempting. It’s another fab trans-seasonal piece as it will look great now with bare legs and a tan, but also really cute with opaques and biker boots when it’s cooler.

Star Mela Long Sleeve Cotton Ula Top - Turquoise NOW £50 Was £78

Star Mela

NOW £50 Was £78

This top is perfect if you have a beach holiday coming up – it just screams summer. It’s one of those pieces you can pull out year after year for that Ibiza cool vibe – just add denim shorts, flip flops and a straw fedora!

Great Plains Daisy Maisie Top - Geranium NOW £49 Was £70

Great Plains Daisy Maisie Top – Geranium
NOW £49 Was £70

I don’t really do girlie, but I’m a sucker for a lace top for an evening out. This pink version from Great Plains is just SO pretty – how can you resist? If pink doesn’t float your boat, the navy version is also in the sale.

Paige Denim Jimmy Jimmy Skinny Boyfriend - Tigerlily NOW £147 Was £210

Paige Denim
Jimmy Jimmy Skinny Boyfriend – Tiger lily
NOW £147 Was £210

A veritable prince among boyfriends, these are the best boyfriend jeans I have ever had. Comfy and flattering, they’re well worth snapping up at a knock down price. You’ll probably want to go down a size though!

American Vintage Rexburg Sweatshirt - Carbon NOW £50 Was £75

American Vintage
Rexburg Sweatshirt – Carbon

You all know how I love a sweatshirt! Here is another great autumn basic. The DR have this sweatshirt available in a few colours. Doesn’t it look snuggly?

Rosemunde Lace Short Sleeve Top - Navy NOW £38 Was £59

    Rosemunde
Lace Short Sleeve Top – Navy

Another lovely little lace number here – this Rosemunde top has just fallen into my basket. I have a black long sleeved version which I love, so I’m hoping this will be a great summer equivalent!

So I’ve told you what I’ve bought – how about you? Let me know what’s tickling your fancy in the usual way!

Houndstooth

So while I haven’t been doing very well at the old ‘blog more regularly’ resolution, I haven’t done too badly on the others. Hell, I haven’t even had a drink since I last posted!

I ordered this jumper from Atterley Road after spotting it over on Avril’s blog. It’s by Selected Femme and the combination of the jumbo houndstooth print and the great price for a wool/cotton mix reeled me in. Initially I wasn’t too sure – it is very bold and I tried it on when I was really suffering from the post-Xmas bloat, so I shoved it back in the box with a mind to returning it. Luckily I’ve had no time to organise that and this morning on a whim I stuck it back on (having lost most of the podge) and Mr TMT, who has a real horror of patterns, actually remarked on how nice it was. So that was that.

I’m wearing it with another sales buy; my new Isabel Marant Bennett wedge trainers, which I acquired shortly before Christmas. I’ve hankered after these for so long that when they popped up at a sensible (relatively speaking ) price, I couldn’t resist. The fact that they are zebra print is just an added bonus.

I’m also wearing another of my new favourite possessions. I found this Kenzo ring in my stocking on Christmas morning and haven’t taken it off. Thanks Santa!

Top – Cos
Jeans – Paige c/o The Dressing Room
Shoes – Swedish Hasbeens

Some things in life just go together. Hot toast and butter. Wine and crisps. Drunk people and questionable kebabs. It just works. I think stripy tops and boyfriend jeans fall into this category. I got this Cos top shortly after I had my daughter (now 2) arrived, so it’s too big really, but I’m loath to get rid of it as unlike so many stripy tees out there it is proper, printer paper white. Not parchment or ivory or stone. So much better for my skin tone. So if you see any white based Bretons on your travels, do shout me, so I can put this one out to pasture!

Clearance Weekend at The Dressing Room!

It’s starting to cool down and new season stock is pouring onto the rails, but there’s still time to grab some final summer sale bargains over at the Dressing Room, who are offering an extra 20% off all sale stock until midnight on 26 August! There are still plenty of lovely bits to pick up at rock bottom prices – here’s what I’d be getting if I wasn’t on this accursed ban!

Equipment Brett Python Shirt - was £192, now £75

Equipment Brett Python Shirt – was £192, now £75

With the discount, this shirt comes in at £60 – for an Equipment shirt?! Snake print was all over the catwalk too, so this is a really savvy new season buy – someone snap it up before I do!!

J Brand 1214 Aidan Slouchy Boyfriend Jean - was £269, now £99

J Brand 1214 Aidan Slouchy Boyfriend Jean – was £269, now £99

Boyfriend jeans are going nowhere fast – I’ll be updating mine for the new season with a fitted sweater and ankle boots. This J Brand Aidan style is very popular, so bag them at a discount!

Mercy Delta Zebra Wool & Silk Mix Scarf - was £150, now £55

Mercy Delta Zebra Wool & Silk Mix Scarf – was £150, now £55

How deliciously autumnal do the berry tones in this Mercy Delta scarf look right now? If you’ve never had the pleasure of stroking one of these scarfs, let me tell you they are so baby soft. This would brighten up my boring classic black coat a treat!

Day Birger et Mikkelsen Acqua Top - was £150, now £75

Day Birger et Mikkelsen
Acqua Top – was £150, now £75

This top has got ‘Christmas night out’ written all over it! I think this beautiful silk top paired with leather leggings and a tuxedo jacket would make a sharp, contemporary alternative to a more convential ‘party dress’.

Bobi Blazer - was £75, now £32

Bobi Blazer – was £75, now £32

I’ve long extolled the virtues of a jersey blazer as a sharper alternative to a cardigan, and this ruby-red Bobi version would be great for A/W. Red has been everywhere at the press days I’ve attended, so this is a great buy – would look fab over a breton top and bootcuts, with a long chunky scarf wrapped round your neck.

H By Hudson Coachella Boot - was £150, now £60

H By Hudson Coachella Boot – was £150, now £60

I’ve liked these boots for aaaages, and at £48 with the discount these are a steal! I’d put them with vintage wash skinnies and a grey marl sweatshirt. Argh, so much tempatation!

Paige Denim Verdugo Super Skinny Jean - was £195, now £99

Paige Denim Verdugo Super Skinny Jean – was £195, now £99

A good pair of black skinnies can be hard to find, in my experience, but I love the fit of the Paige Verdugos, so I think this pair would be a great investment, especially for £80!

Just Ballerinas Glitter Platino Pumps - was £79, now £45

Just Ballerinas Glitter Platino Pumps – was £79, now £45

You know by now that I just love slipper flats, but they can be a little tricky to style for the evening. This pair have that nailed by virtue of being glittery and gold! Skinnies are the obvious choice for these, but I actually think they look really cute with opaques and a short skirt.

So, those are a few pieces I think are great, but there are so many more I could have featured so do check out the sale section, and don’t forget to use code CLEAR20 to get your extra 20% off! So, what will you be bagging in The Dressing Room’s clearance? Do let me know in the usual way!

DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post – I just really like these guys.

C150 – Day 28 & 29

Day 28

20130820-202702.jpg

Outfit:

T-shirt – American Vintage
Jeans – Paige c/o The Dressing Room
Sandals – Marni X H&M

Just a very casual outfit for a day with the kids involving a very futile search for a pair of work trousers (these have been sanctioned by the keeper of the purse as a necessary expense outside the ban). If anyone sees a slightly cropped, predominantly cotton, non-black pair please shout me!

20130820-202717.jpg

Outfit:

Shirt – Uniqlo
Skirt – Vivienne Westwood Red Label
Shoes – Jemima Vine
Watch – Olivia Burton

I really like this outfit. Seeing it next to my more casual look, it makes me think that perhaps Mr TMT wasn’t just ‘being a man’ when he suggested I wore more form fitting clothes at the weekend!

C150 – Day 6

The orange shoes get another outing, today with my favourite Paige Jimmy Jimmy boyfriend jeans. As you probably gathered from yesterday’s outfit, I love cobalt and orange together! Excuse the grease stain / have just taken my progeny to the cinema and for lunch!

T-shirt – American Vintage
Jeans – Paige c/o The Dressing Room

Yesterday, before my haircut I had a browse in the shops. Before I started this challenge I would have considered a trip where I didn’t buy anything a waste of time, but it was actually quite liberating to look at things, try them on and then walk away. That’s not to say I wasn’t tempted mind; here are a few bits that took my fancy:
